At Clutch, we're on a mission to revolutionize leadership development. Founded by seasoned executives and consultants, Stephanie and Debbie, our company was born out of a shared frustration with the lack of accessible, insightful tools for conducting effective leadership assessments.
The Clutch Story
Stephanie and Debbie crossed paths in 2017, both driven by a passion for helping leaders and teams unlock their full potential. Stephanie, the HR leader for a high-growth tech company, had witnessed firsthand the challenges that arise from unclear expectations and unaddressed tensions within organizations. Debbie, a past operator and longtime organizational health consultant, was CEO of a digital coaching SaaS company helping team members understand how their tendencies impacted organizational dynamics.
In late 2023, over a coffee meeting in San Francisco, they realized their experiences had converged on a common goal: to provide a constructive and focused environment for teams to engage in frank, growth-oriented conversations. They wanted to give people more than permission, they wanted to create an expectation for people to make their expectations explicit. They began refining a framework for enhancing leadership and team effectiveness through clear expectations and honest feedback - and the concept for Clutch was born.
