Determining Participants

I’m buying a Leader Scorecard. How do I determine who should provide feedback?

The goal of the Clutch Scorecard is to get a well-rounded perspective on the leader’s effectiveness by interviewing a selection of colleagues. Participants should include peers, bosses, direct reports, as well as external partners, board members, clients, or others who see the leader’s work and can speak to their impact.

I’ve identified the people I want to ask to give feedback for a Leader Scorecard. Do you have a template that I can send them to get their approval?

Yes. See below.

I have ordered a Clutch Leader Scorecard for you to provide feedback about my performance.

I’m buying a Team Scorecard. Should I invite direct reports only to participate or can I include others who work closely with us like HR and Finance Business Partners. What about my Admin?

The answer is: it depends. We suggest that you include the people on the team who are highly engaged with each other on a regular basis. A rule of thumb can be to include those members who attend your Weekly Staff Meeting.

Interviews and Scorecards

Can I customize the interview questions?

No. Clutch has already created the questions that will elicit feedback on the most important skills required for leader, team and board effectiveness.

How are the Clutch Scores calculated?

Clutch analyzes the feedback in comparison to the 15 Clutch Skills to provide you with a score in Culture, Strategy, Execution and Overall effectiveness. We have trained the Clutch AI to analyze all interview response data. Think of it like a teacher grading an essay - we’ve trained the Clutch AI to analyze all the self-reported context from the Interviews and then give you a grade, measured against the Clutch Capabilities and Skills.

How are the Clutch Score (Overall/Culture/Strategy/Execution) summary paragraphs generated?

We prompt the Clutch AI to read and understand all participant responses. Then, we ask it to familiarize itself with the Clutch Skills Framework. Next we ask it to analyze the responses data and summarize it in comparison to the skills framework. This allows the Clutch AI to provide thoughtful summaries comparing your participant responses against our proven Clutch Framework.

What are the Clutch Skills?

You can find the Clutch Skills on the website for Leader, Team and Board

How do I know if my scorecard results are good?

Clutch provides a scale so you know how you compare to other leaders and teams. High performing leaders and teams score between 80-95, moderately performing leaders and teams between 65-80, and low performing teams less than 65.

Participant Questions

How do you ensure my responses are anonymous?

Clutch was built to help people have the safety to speak the truth in their feedback.

Only Clutch’s AI sees the responses that participants submit. Once all responses for a Scorecard are submitted, they are reviewed in aggregate and summarized by Clutch AI. To take it a step further, we specifically prompt the AI so that it never directly quotes nor shares examples provided by participants, it only provides aggregate and summarized trends and themes. You are asking me to share a lot of confidential information. How does Clutch avoid that information being accessible with AI tools?

Clutch cleans all participant interview response data of identifiable information including company or individual names before sending into the LLM.

I paused my interview and now I can’t find it. How can I resume the interview?

Your data is stored in the local browser. That means as long as you keep the window open, you can continue. However, unfortunately if you close your browser you must start your interview again.

Privacy and Security

You are asking me to share a lot of confidential information. How does Clutch avoid that information being accessible with AI tools?

Clutch cleans all participant interview response data of identifiable information including company or individual names before sending into the AI.

For more information please see our Privacy Policy. If you would like Clutch to stop processing your data or delete any information we have about you, then please email us at team@clutch-insights.com.

How does Clutch use AI?

Clutch uses AI in the form of an LLM (large language model) which analyzes all Clutch Interview submissions. We’ve trained the Clutch LLM on the Capabilities (Culture, Strategy, Execution) and the 16 skills within them. During analysis of interview response data, the Clutch LLM provides the Clutch Score, a grade to indicate how well the team is performing in each Capability. The Clutch Bot has been prompted to review all interview response data and create the summaries that are displayed on the Clutch Scorecard.

From a technical perspective, we also use AI to build our products, optimize workflows, and ensure that what we build here works the way we intend it to.
